Since Jenn’s specialty is WordPress web development and mine is copywriting for brands, we both work with web designers 99% of the time. One really cool part of a designer’s job is to create or source creative assets to support their work. Creative Market makes that really easy because you can choose from virtually endless products, select the license you need, and support another designer in the process. These assets are a great intro to this creative community and major bonus, they are available for those of you learning how to DIY your blog design.
Designers love to find unique fonts on creative market, like those whimsical script fonts so many bloggers love. Here are just a few of our current faves:
I think Creative Market is probably the best place to find good styled stock photos. (Besides our wildly successful Etsy shop, of course!) Most of them are pretty affordable and so much better for your brand than pulling from the same free sites that hundreds of other bloggers use. Sure, you have to weed through many an excessive vintage filter, but you can find some real gems. You can get single images or bundles like these below.
And while I know the blogger on a budget doesn’t necessarily want to pay for photos all the time, but I actually think that’s why you should consider it. Most people will opt for the free version, so you’re automatically getting a more unique photo by investing in ones like these, even of some other brands use them too.
Anything you can make in Photoshop, you can find a template for it on Creative Market.
brushes and textures
Lastly, some of our favorite graphic design elements were made using brushes and textures like these. They’re so fun to play around with when you’re getting to know Photoshop and trendy new patterns are being added all the time.
