I know that not every blogger does their work on the go. But once I started freelancing for my job, I started having more options for finding workspaces outside of my home. It took at least a year of lugging my laptop and piles of paper around in my oversized tote bag to cafes and meetings and sometimes even the park before I invested in some products that REALLY made brainstorming, writing, and planning convenient to do. Not to mention the backpack actually saved my shoulders!
1. Hershel Supply Co. Backpack | Bloomingdale’s
2. Spokane Sleeve | Moorea Seal
3. iPad Mini 2 | Amazon (Find more tablet ideas here)
4. Lizone Portable Charger Power Bank | Amazon
5. Small Postalco Notebook | Kaufmann Mercantile
6. Frends x Garance Dore Headphones | The Outnet (or these Samsung noise canceling headphones)
7. Evershop iPhone + Samsung Camera Lens | Amazon
I chose these products basically for efficiency and convenience. When I go from cafes to meetings or explore a new neighborhood, I’m often walking – so I can totally see that if you’re not, you might not need to worry about what’s going to be super heavy (why I got an iPad, taking my laptop everywhere has been rough on it and me!). I love to just have a small notebook to take with me because my planner is pretty huge. And the last two items? Total wishlist for me. Those headphones might only be practical if they’re going to appear in lots of photos. I’ve also heard great things about portable smartphone lenses. It would be super nice not to have to bring my trusty Nikon out unless it’s for a shoot (I still believe it’s one of the best cameras for bloggers!).
Where do you do most of your blogging? Are you in cafes a lot or mostly from home?

I mostly blog from home. But a change of scenery might be nice once in a while, especially for the productivity… :)

I blog from home mostly. Every now and then I’ll blog using my phone. I’ve been incorporating Snapchat in a few blog posts, so my phone always has to be charged using a power bank I got a few months ago.

I mostly blog from home, but do a lot of my social media work via my phone when I’m out and about.

I noticed your most recent Instagram posts are shown on your side bar. Is this automatic or do you change it manually with every post?

I’m a part-time freelance writer and blogger and most of my work is done at home. I find background noise really distracting, so there’s definitely no way I’d be able to work in a public space (i.e. cafes, libraries, pubs). I need absolute silence when I work.

I think the link might be wrong on the #2 Spokane Sleeve. I think it goes to the backpack. Just noticed cause I wanted to check out that sleeve haha. Great list of things! I always keep a portable charger with me for extra battery time. It’s a MUST.

Thanks Emily!!! I always seem to mess up a link haha. It’s updated! I don’t own that one, but an older one from the Moorea Seal store and love it!

A notebook, portable charger, and iPad are my must-have items, but now I’m SERIOUSLY considering buying that phone lens! Thanks for the suggestions!

I always forget to bring my camera with me and I don’t use my phone camera that much because I don’t like the zoom-in feature that much but those lenses for the iphone! I’m super tempted to purchase those now.
Thanks so much for the suggestions!
Angela says
Yeah exactly! I usually love iPhone pics but zooming is horrible!

Awesome content! Love seeing products such as the lens that I never even knew existed. Had to add this one to my bookmark for later!
