Hello, hello! I had a couple other posts planned for this week but we’ve tackled negativity in blogging and reasons your website isn’t growing, so we wanted to do something a little more light and inspiring. Some of you may know that in my 1-bedroom apartment I have a little office nook. It was advertised as a den but really it’s a dining area, but thankfully the only indictor of that is the ugly ceiling fan that I choose to ignore! After about a year of living there and not knowing where to start with decorating, I’m finally determined to make this space inviting. Today I thought I’d share a bit of my progress so far, mostly with my new artwork and inspiration board.
Right now it’s about halfway complete. If you follow me on Pinterest you know my interior style is very light and airy with crafty, bohemian, and colorful touches. When we first moved in we painted the walls white. At first I didn’t want to hang anything on the walls because I love a blank space for shooting. But since I don’t sell on Etsy anymore, most of my shooting takes place on backdrops anyway. So up this pegboard went!
And let’s be honest, most of my photos are of flowers anyway.
For awhile I had those two sheets of floral paper on the wall, but it wasn’t a big enough focal point. I’ll have to gather all the sources for everything pictured here when I show you the finished product.
Since most of the room is very white, I wanted this to be the big pop of color. We also plan to share a post on inspiration boards next month, so stay tuned!
Another piece of art I’ll be incorporating into my studio is Rachel of ps lettering shop‘s work. She’s so talented with watercolor and calligraphy, and we recently collaborated on a series of creative quotes with light backgrounds that match the space. Be on the lookout for a full feature of her work and the rest of my studio progress and reveal over on my other blog if found, make. next month!
By the way, Rachel is offering up 20% off on orders over $5 in her Etsy shop with code CREATIVE.
