About a month ago, I organized all of my Pinterest boards with no other purpose than to make it look pretty. I had so many random boards with content I no longer cared about it, so I ended up deleting a bunch of pins too. The process was very time consuming and maybe not what I should have been focusing on at the time (ha), but I just couldn’t stop. Angela and I both find that rearranging our Pinterest boards is always oddly therapeutic.
After refreshing my Pinterest page, I felt inspired to browse Pinterest more often and add to my new boards. I also noticed a rise in my Pinterest followers. I’m not talking thousands of followers overnight or anything, but I’ve definitely seen a steady increase. So that’s exciting!
If you want to give your Pinterest page a little makeover, read our tips below! Keep in mind that the process can be really addicting. :)
Delete pins & consolidate boards
When I first heard that we should be deleting our pins, I rolled my eyes. There are so many rules in the blogosphere, so take this one with a grain of salt. According to Pinterest experts, your profile is more likely to be found if your pins have lots of repins. This is really good to know. When going through my Pinterest boards, I deleted several pins that didn’t have many repins. However, our rule of thumb is that if the pin doesn’t have lots of repins but you still love it, keep it! Your Pinterest page should be inspiring to you, not just your followers.
Another way to simplify your page is to go through your boards and see if there are any you can delete altogether, moving the pins to other relevant boards. For example, I had many separate boards for home-related topics (bed & bath, kitchen, interior, exterior, etc). Some boards hardly had any pins, so I moved them all to a single board. Some of you may find it makes sense to have a bunch of specific boards, and that’s totally fine too. You do you!
Rearrange your boards and add new cover photos
Make sure that when people visit your Pinterest page, they immediately understand your aesthetic. The boards you love most should be at the top. If you visit my Pinterest page, you’ll see that my first boards are about blogging and design. Angela’s first few boards focus on conscious living and indie businesses. You can easily see what kinds of things we love. It’s also a good idea to be intentional about your board covers. After all, these are what will encourage people to click into your boards and follow them! We like to choose cover photos that each have a similar aesthetic. See how all of Angela’s board covers have dreamy, pastel vibes? They’re super pretty and will attract followers who also love these colors.
Follow new inspiring Pinterest boards
Recently, I found myself uninspired by my Pinterest feed. Then I realized I hadn’t followed new boards in a really long time! And obviously I’m not interested in many things that I liked several years ago when Pinterest first came out. I did some browsing and followed probably 50 new people. Pinterest will give you recommendations on what boards you might like to follow, but sometimes they’re way off. I like going to my favorite Pinterest profiles and seeing who those people are following!
How do you like to keep your Pinterest page organized? I’m sure we all do things differently, depending on whether we use Pinterest for fun or for business (or both!).

This is good for me to think about because I just recently decided to make a separate page for my blog from my personal pinterest. My personal page has thousands of pins and while I want good content on my blog pinterest, I don’t want to seem as overwhelming as my personal one is, either.

I’ve been working like mad on upping my Pinterest game lately and am now getting a handful of new followers every day, and a lot more re-pins than I was getting before. It’s thrilling! One thing that seems to be paying off is I made branded board covers for all my boards. They look pretty and really intentional, and it seems to be driving more people to follow me. Yay!

I just recently tried to re arrange my boards and i believe that function is no longer available! Or maybe it isn’t done the way it used to be done. Any help on that subject? Thanks.

Hi Kim! Just tried it out and it let me, I just dragged it over from one side to the next. I think you used to have to click on something in order to begin rearranging but now you don’t. Hope it works for you soon!
