1. Over at A Beautiful Mess, Emma recently shared five tips for staying on top of your emails and we’re excited to put this into place next week. Answering the toughest emails first is always tedious, but boy does it cure a lot of the stress that comes with checking a full inbox!
2. Jess of The Golden Girl wrote a post on productivity earlier this year, and one of my favorite things is that it defines that ominous “block out time” tip all freelancers seem to swear by. I’m personally constantly at odds with my need for organization and my super all over the place job (I do social media for all my gigs so really do have to stop at certain times and switch gears for Instagram etc.). Knowing that I don’t have to block out hours on end to be productive is helpful!
3. I’m learning that being able to automate certain parts of your biz is key for your success and sanity. Nesha lists all the best ways to automate your creative business and I think if any of these are a possibility, you should totally do them! Why not save yourself the headache?
4. We bookmarked this post on In Honor of Design (that also includes Melyssa of The Nectar Collective‘s advice) on organizing an effective social media calendar awhile back… We just knew it would come in handy! Two of my favorite points are setting aside days/times, and just not feeling guilty over it.
Hope this inspires some smoother Mondays to come! Are you guys feeling prepared for September? Let us know what you’d like to see on The Blog Market next month.

Thank you so much – this is exactly what I’ve been looking for! Now that I have to go back to school I have to fit everything into a really tight schedule and I have no idea how I will be able to do this. Maybe some of those posts can help me with figuring out how to stay productive :)
Love, Kerstin

It’s tough! That’s why one of my favorite points in the In Honor of Design article was not feeling guilty! You can be super productive but still not get through everything, so I’m trying not to panic when that happens! :)

A great post! Now the summer holidays are coming to an end, it’s going to be a little bit hectic getting back into the old routine. Thanks for the tips!

this post totally came at the right time! When so much is going on and expected of you in the online world it’s hard to keep on top of everything – this seriously helped! Thankyou.
