My favorite part of blogging, designing, crafting, anything creative, is playing with colors. Every day, I see new color schemes I wouldn’t even think of putting together. Black and white minimalism is definitely great, but I think adding colors is one of the best ways to differentiate one blog or brand from another. My love for colors is something that has helped me creatively but has also made me an indecisive person. I always have to stop myself from impulsively redesigning this site or my blog Earl Grey. But later in the summer, we actually are going to rebrand TBM and I can’t wait to put together a new color palette!
1. A beautiful cheat sheet of branding color emotions can be found over on Spruce Rd! I think it’s crazy how many emotions and feels can be evoked by specific colors.
2. Loving this post by The Brand Stylist about using color to sell more. So many good things to consider.
3. Choosing the right color palette for a project can be daunting. Check out this useful guide to choosing colors for your blog or website on Vic Mae!
4. For those of you who design in Ilustrator, Jamie of Spruce Rd. has another great post on Ciera Designs about creating color palettes and saving them for future use.
Have you heard of Synesthesia? It’s the condition where you relate numbers, letters, and concepts to colors. I’ve had this forever and used to think everybody else did too. It can also apply to the music you hear, things you smell, etc. But it’s all about colors and it’s pretty amazing. Do any of you have Synesthesia?

I love Design Seeds!! So much inspiration over there.
And that’s awesome about the synesthesia. I always see days of the week as shapes. :)

I have heard of this, I actually watched a show about it and they were focusing on smell. They made a fake sausage smell and set up the table in the back to see if it really sold them and they sold triple then what they usually did when the smell was there. Our senses seem to have a mind of their own.
