Good morning! We’ve found a lot of good designer resources over the last week, so another theme post it is! I am one of those people who loves aesthetic and knows good design when I see it. But when it comes time for me to pull everything together for myself, I’m more of a DIYer, less than an expert. Like photography, it’s an interest of mine, but not something I think I’ll ever stop learning about. Hopefully these resources will help you guys too!
1. I feel like people either have a knack for pairing fonts, or they don’t really know what they’re doing. Luckily, Love + Color shared a helpful post on font pairing for beautiful branding, for those of us who are still getting the hang of it.
2. When it comes to Adobe Illustrator, I’ll take all the tips I can get. Jamie from Spruce Rd. has the kind of guide that you’ll want to have open alongside the program so you can go through things step by step. Her quick tips can be used by anyone from total beginner status to someone who is just interested in learning shortcuts to make life easier.
3. So obviously we’re all about building a blog the DIY way around here, which is why we love to share posts like these six tips for designing your own blog from freeborboleta. Naturally, the color palette part is one of our favorites!
4. The logo is a tricky thing. It can be so simple, yet it’s crazy important to your overall branding and business. Of course, when it comes to things like designing a logo, I try my best not to overthink it and just dive in to the process. It’s nice to have a few tricks for getting it right. And by “a few” I mean the mega guide that Ashley of Nose Graze posted here!
Have a wonderful first weekend of October! I think a pumpkin patch is in order, what about you?
