Next Tuesday officially marks the beginning of that lovely time of year we’re all looking forward to – tax season! Are you guys excited? Just kidding. Since it’s my first time filing taxes as a freelancer, I’m a little overwhelmed and definitely going to find an accountant who specializes in helping creative freelancers and small business owners. I’ve been tracking my income and expenses for the past year, but I know that there are a lot of things I could do better to stay organized in the future. Before I actually sit down with an accountant, I’m planning on reading all the tax-related blog posts I’ve bookmarked. Here are a few tax tips for bloggers that I have on my list:
1. I so appreciate this list of easily forgotten tax write-offs from With Grace & Gold. Thinking about your office space, transportation, and other random expenses can save you so much money and hassle in the end.
2. On Northern Belle Diaries, Lisette shared a wonderful post full of tax tips specifically for bloggers. She also included a handy income tracker!
3. For a helpful post full of tax advice, innovative apps, and tracking methods, check out this article by Think Creative!
4. Lastly, I’m all about this post on freelance business expenses by Lindsay of White Oak Creative. She shares tons of tools and resources that won’t break the bank.
There you have it! Four easy reads that will hopefully make this coming tax season a little easier for all of us. If you have any tax advice for bloggers, please feel free to share it in the comments.
Have an amazing weekend, friends!
