When Angela joined me in creating The Blog Market, I was super excited to be able to work with someone who knows a thing or two about online selling. Blogging and selling online are so closely knit. You can do one without the other of course, but doing both is a pretty fun adventure. We’ve actually been working on launching a shop here on TBM hopefully by this summer! Here are some handy tips about running small businesses (particularly online shops):
1. During the brief time that I sold products on Etsy, shipping always gave me the most anxiety. I felt like every time I shipped out a product it was a brand new experience, and I never developed a solid routine. Kendra of Key Lime Designs has an amazing post full of shipping tips for small businesses. She addresses everything from what shipping software she uses to where she sources her packing materials. So helpful!
2. Some of the most successful small businesses stem from hobbies. Earning an income by doing what you love is everyone’s dream, right? Tilly of Tilly and the Buttons wrote a detailed post on what to consider when trying to turn your hobby into a business. Love it.
3. I’m so happy I came across Elise’s post of small business resources! She shares all of the tools and programs she uses as well as some awesome printing companies.
4. Lastly, here’s a short and sweet (but extremely helpful) list of 3 shop planning resources from Zoe Rooney! Definitely bookmarking everything she mentions in this post.
Those of you who are running small businesses, do you have any advice to add to the list?
ps. Have you entered our spring giveaway yet? We’re sending off a bundle of pretty office supplies to one lucky reader. There are just a few more days to enter!
