“Creativity takes courage.” These words of Henri Matisse are so beautiful and true. Creativity is something I’ve always thought was deeply ingrained in everyone. Everyone. I think the mere fact that everyone is different and has varying opinions, views, and the ability to think of new things makes us creative. But expressing the things you’re passionate about involves a lot of boldness.
Expressing creativity means taking something that is deeply personal to you and sharing it with others at the risk of being judged. You might find that everyone is super sweet and supportive of your creative ventures (high five for hanging out with nice people!), but even the fear of being rejected can often be strong enough to make someone not want to try at all. My own creative journey has definitely been one of personal growth and reflection. I used to let go of my creative ideas because I didn’t have the courage to put myself out there.
Thankfully, I’ve gotten to the point where I think expressing creativity through blogging is worth taking the risk of receiving negative feedback. I encourage you guys to pursue your own creative ideas, even if you’re anxious about it. When you share your creativity with the world, you inspire others to be vulnerable and share their ideas too. :)
Do you feel like you’ve had to gain a lot of courage to pursue the things you’re passionate about? What has helped you overcome any hesitation or fear you may have had? Share your stories with us!

Oh my gosh I love this post! So, SO much. Especially the point ” I think the mere fact that everyone is different and has varying opinions, views, and the ability to think of new things makes us creative.” And your point about rejection. I’m always super-bold to put my ventures out there, but it’s always so hard to do it with my IRL friends, I get so scared of their opinions. On the other hand, I get so frustrated when my friends are really nice and trust I’m doing the best I can RE: creative pursuits, but never offer constructive criticism when even I know I’ve written something mediocre. This was a lovely post to read.

I could not agree more with this post and it was just what I needed right now. I was feeling a bit low on creativity juice today, so thank you for sharing these positive words. It does take courage to be creative, especially when you’re not sure if it will all work out.

This is so unbelievably true! It comes to a point however where you just don’t care what others think :)

Yes! This is something I 100% agree with and something I needed to hear right now. Creativity is so deeply personal but yet it’s how we interact with the world and with others. It takes courages. It takes guts. It takes us being ourselves. Thank you for the inspiration today!
